Where is your journey taking you?

March 22, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

Journey in an origami boatI recently read a quote on a post at the Free Agent Underground by C. S. Lewis

We are made for something greater, but it takes a journey to discover what that is.

My journey has taken me to places unimaginable just a year ago.  Dreams and goals back then have become a reality and plus more.  There have been course corrections along the way, but just like the quote says, it takes a journey to discover the greatness for which we are made.

Where is your own personal journey taking you?  Are you wandering around, getting nowhere or are you finding your purpose and passion in life?

What are you doing today to help your journey?

What is impossible?

March 8, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

What do you think is impossible?  I just finished reading 50 Impossible Quotes from Joel Runyon at the Blog of Impossible Things.  Here are a few that struck me:

Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done.  God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing.

– G M Trevelyan

Some of the world’s greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible

– Doug Larson

So many of our dreams at first seem impossible then they seem improbable and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.

– Christopher Reeve

In order to attain the impossible one must attempt the absurd

– Miguel de Cervantes

What if you told yourself that the impossible was possible… how would that change your life?

  • #14 – My personal blog, BlueCapra.com, with picture (down 3 places from last week at #11)
  • #71 – BlueCapra.com tag page; posts tagged ‘Alan Reeves’ (down 19 places from last week at #52)
  • #77 – Comment I made on AndyTraub.com around the middle of December 2011 (down 17 places from last week at #60)
  • #79 – Comment I made on CoachRadio.tv  around the middle of December 2011 (down 2 places from last week at #77)

This week was not so good good for my journey to 1st on Google. I stayed at the #2 spot for my first occurrence which is good, but lost a ton of ground in the other places. Since LinkedIn occupies the 1st spot, it will be tough to overcome such a large site but that is my goal and I will keep at it until I’m there.  Overall, my top 5 results decreased 41 places with all spots either the same or down for the week.  I showed up 6 times in the top 100 search results with the last occurrence being my Google+ profile at #100.

I am a bit disappointed this week.  I am pleased about remaining at #2 but with the big drop this week, I am not as confident with my strategies than are in place. [Read more…]
