1st on Google - Week 21 - Google search results for Alan Reeves - 3rdWelcome back to my journey to being 1st on Google. This is the 21st update.  If you missed the any of the posts, you can find the first one here, 20th Week update here (last week), and the ones in between on my Project page. Below are the results as of Sunday, 6-17-12 (click here to do your own search):

  •  #3 – My LinkedIn profile (up 1 place from last week at #4)
  •  #11 – The About page on BlueCapra.com, with picture  (up 2 places from last week at #13)
  •  #31 – My BrandYourself.com profile (up 2 places from last week at #33)
  •  #34 – @bookwormlaser on Twitter (no change from last week at #34)
  •  #44 – My profile on Vimeo – check out my video series Can You Etch It (down 2 place from last week at #42)
This week I am at #3, up from past weeks and a tie for my highest ranking.  The first occurrence of a link that is pointing to one of my sites is #11.  Overall, my top 5 results increased 3 places with 2 of the top 5 results occurring in the first 25 places.  As a whole, I showed up 15 times in the top 100 search results, which is a new record.

This week I am up to #4, an improvement from the last several weeks at #5.  The first occurrence of a link that is pointing to one of my sites is #13.  Overall, my top 5 results decreased 13 places with only 2 of the top 5 results occurring in the first 25 places.  The BrandYourself.com profile I just created showed up at #33 which is a surprise as is @bookwormlaser on Twitter.  I was again surprised to see a post I wrote about my wife showing up at #57.  As a whole, I showed up 14 times in the top 100 search results, which is a new record by 2 places.

My WordPress How-To: Top Commentators Widget

If you have a website, chances are that you are trying to connect with people.  You publish some kind of content in the hopes that visitors will comment, chat, or interact with you in some way.  For many people, commenting on other sites is a way to expand their influence, attract new visitors to their own sites, and share their information.  A great way to encourage that behavior on your site is to reward those who interact with you and what better way to reward people than through DoFollow links.  If this sounds like a good idea, keep reading, the Top Commentators Widget is just what you need.

This week I am back at #5, same as last week.  The first occurrence of a link that is pointing to one of my sites is #15.  Overall, my top 5 results decreased 2 places with only 2 of the top 5 results occurring in the first 25 places.  With the exception of two results, this week is pretty much the same as last week.  I showed up 11 times in the top 100 search results.
