Picture a day – 02-05-12

February 12, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

Here are the pictures from the previous week (Saturday, 02-05-2012 through Saturday, 02-11-2012) for my Picture a day. This week I again missed a few days.  In fact, this week was more of a Picture every other day.

I started this year hoping I would go through an entire year taking multiple pictures per day. This has just not happened. I did not expect to be spending as much time as I have on my business and blogs. I will continue to take pictures and will do my best to be more intentional about doing it everyday, I am no longer under the illusion that I will be 100%. I know I will only get better with practice but taking pictures just to say I had a picture a day does little or no good.

My main goal with this is to become a better photographer through practice and feedback. Let me know how I am doing. If you like these images, please share them (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest…)

Picture a day – 01-29-12

February 5, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

Here are the pictures from the previous week (Saturday, 01-29-2012 through Saturday, 02-04-2012) for my Picture a day. This week I not only realized that I have too many irons in the fire, but as much as I really like photography, I really don’t want to have to take pictures.  As a result, there are a few missed days.

Picture a day – 01-22-12

January 28, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

Here are the pictures from the previous week (Saturday, 01-21-2012 through Friday, 01-27-2012) for my Picture a day. This week I concentrated on miniature pictures, usually involving Legos.  This is the first time I have missed taking a picture.  On Tuesday, 1-24-12, I dozed off after work at around 6 pm and ended up sleeping for 12 hours (I must have been tired).  That was the first day I had not taken a picture in about a month.  There is also no picture for Friday, but not for the same reason.  I could have taken any picture but I wanted to follow the miniature theme.  Tomorrow is a new day.

I will be changing the schedule that I post the pictures in an effort to get in sync with the calendar so next week, I will post the newest Picture a day post on Sunday, 2-5-12.

My main goal with this is to become a better photographer through practice and feedback. Let me know how I am doing. If you like these images, please share them (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest…)

Picture a day – Week of 01-15-12

January 21, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

Here are the pictures from the previous week (Saturday, 01-14-2012 through Friday, 01-20-2012) for my Picture a day. This week I concentrated on long exposures.  I really like the effect it creates and I realize that I NEED a tripod to do much more of this kind of stuff (like star trails and such).

My main goal with this is to become a better photographer through practice and feedback. Let me know how I am doing. If you like these images, please share them (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest…)

Picture a day – Week of 01-08-12

January 14, 2012 by Alan R Leave a Comment

Here are the pictures from the previous week (Saturday, 01-07-2012 through Friday, 01-13-2012) for my Picture a day.  This week has been more difficult to make sure I am taking at least one picture every day and spending time on photography.  A few days this past week it was almost midnight before I took my first picture

I will be scheduling next week to ensure I can get into the habit of practicing for a specific length of time.  At night I do read photography books to learn more, but the best way to get better is by doing.  My main goal with this is to become a better photographer through practice and feedback.  Let me know how I am doing.  If you like these images, please share them (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest…)
