1st on Google – Week 19

Welcome back to my journey to being 1st on Google. This is the 19th update.  If you missed the any of the posts, you can find the first one here, 18th Week update here (last week), and the ones in between on my Project page. Below are the results as of Sunday, 06-03-12 (click here to do your own search):

  • #5 – My LinkedIn profile (no change from last week at #5)
  • #15 –  The About page on BlueCapra.com, with picture  (no change from last week at #15)
  • #30 – My profile on Vimeo – check out my video series Can You Etch It (down 1 place from last week at #29)
  • #31 – My Pinterest profile for Book Worm Laser & Design (down 1 place from last week at #30)
  • #32 – My personal blog, BlueCapra.com, with picture (no change from last week at #32)
This week I am back at #5, same as last week.  The first occurrence of a link that is pointing to one of my sites is #15.  Overall, my top 5 results decreased 2 places with only 2 of the top 5 results occurring in the first 25 places.  With the exception of two results, this week is pretty much the same as last week.  I showed up 11 times in the top 100 search results.

1st on Google - Alan Reeves - 18th week update - PageRank increase to 1Welcome back to my journey to being 1st on Google. This is the 18th update.  If you missed the any of the posts, you can find the first one here, 17th Week update here (last week), and the ones in between on my Project page. Below are the results as of Sunday, 05-27-12 (click here to do your own search):

  • #5 – My LinkedIn profile (no change from last week at #5)
  • #15 – My personal blog, BlueCapra.com, with picture!!! (no change from last week at #15)
  • #29 – My Pinterest profile for Book Worm Laser & Design (no change from last week at #29)
  • #30 – My profile on Vimeo – check out my video series Can You Etch It (up 2 place from last week at #32)
  • #32 –  The About page on BlueCapra.com, with picture!!!  (up 2 places from last week at #34)

Below are the results as of Sunday, 05-20-12 (click here to do your own search):

  • #5 – My LinkedIn profile (up 8 places from last week at #13)
  • #15 – My personal blog, BlueCapra.com, with picture!!! (up 8 places from last week at #23)
  • #29 – My profile on Vimeo – check out my video series Can You Etch It (up 4 place from last week at #25)
  • #32 –  The About page on BlueCapra.com, with picture!!!  (down 5 places from last week at #27)
  • #34 – My business Pinterest profile, BookWormLaser (down 3 places from last week at #31)
This week I am at #5, back up from the past few weeks.  One interesting order change that I noticed; my Linkedin profile showed up before the general Linkedin search for Alan Reeves.  Overall, my top 5 results increased 16 places with only 2 of the top 5 results occurring in the first 25 places.  I showed up 11 times in the top 100 search results.

  • #5 – My LinkedIn profile (up 10 place from last week at #15)
  • #12 – My personal blog, BlueCapra.com, with picture (up 18 places from last week at #30)
  • #27 – My profile on Vimeo – check out my video series Can You Etch It (up 4 place from last week at #31)
  • #38 – The About Me page from my personal blog, BlueCapra.com, with picture (up 6 places from last week at #44)
  • #50 – The post, How Would You Use a MeTag™? from CoachRadio.tv about one of my laser engraving products, the MeTag™ (no change from last week at #50)

This week I am back up to #5.  The links occupying the top 4 spots include IMDb, Wikipedia (twice), and LinkedIn, all with way high page rank.  My first occurrence is at #5 and overall, my top 5 results increased 38 places.  I showed up 9 times in the top 100 search results which is down 1 from last week, but a welcome improvement from past weeks.  It does seem that the results can fluctuate a great deal week to week (sometimes referred to as the Google dance) but the same big sites are showing up time and time again. This week was similar to previous weeks.  My first occurrence is at #5 and overall, my top 5 results decreased 8 places.  I showed up 6 times in the top 100 search results.  My picture did show up 5th in the image results which is also intriguing.  Something else that is interesting is the sites that show up in spots #1 through #5: [Read more…]
