Strategies for 1st
This week, when looking for more pages to tag on Bing (up to 74 by the way), I came across a link that I did not expect; someone used a picture I took of a spider web in their blog post. The post was about good writing practices for the web. The image was licensed under the Creative Commons: Attribution license and the author of the post did a great job of linking back to my Flickr profile. Personally, I think it is way cool that a picture I took is being used and seen by more people than I could have expected. Importantly, a link to a Flickr picture eventually gets back to my site via a link in my profile so there are benefits all around.
Summary – The search for Alan Reeves
I’ve been able to make good progress since the start, going from #91 on 1-25-12 to #2 on 2-26-12 and to #10 today. I have learned a lot about improving search ranking and I have made a lot of mistakes, but this is a learning process. Stay tuned to see if next week is the week I reach the 1st spot on Google and Bing.
