Strategies for 1st
This week I was able to add another linked page via the Bing Linked Pages site which makes 9 pages I have found. Still not sure if the linked pages help, but I guess they can’t hurt.
While listening to the Freakonomics Podcast, I heard about a new site that had sponsored the podcast, Reputation.com. It is a way to monitor your online reputation, tracking the good and the bad. It is free to use but has premium features that help get more exposure of fix negative information. I signed up for an account late last week so it will most likely be the middle of this week until any results are seen.
The site wanted as much personal information as you would want to give it, but I am still weary of what personal information I post online. I decided to stick with the info that anyone could find with just a little digging. I’ll be checking back in the next few days to see what they have found and how it can help.
Summary – The search for Alan Reeves
I’ve been able to make a good amount of progress so far, going from #91 on 1-25-12 to #3 on 3-11-12 and back to #4 today. I have learned a lot about improving search ranking and I have made a lot of mistakes, but this is a learning process. I hope to make significant progress by next week and regain my past progress. Stay tuned to see if next week is the week I reach the 1st spot on Google and Bing. If you have any suggestions to get me there, leave a comment and let me know.
